Cover: two-color print, design: Tomiyasu Shiraiwa, 30cm, 33 RPM, 1981, Bellows Records, New YOrk 003. Contents: Soundscape I. Soundscape II.
Kosugi utilizes a number of instruments, including violin, voice and electronic devices, which he has developed himself. His musical performances are improvisations based partly on his compositions and prompted by a specific setting of the performance. He combines visual as well as musical activities, believing that music should create events in time / space, thus stimulating equally the audio and visual senses.
"A performance should give the feeling of the invisible side of a situation, it should suggest the mysterious...seeing sounds as well as hearing sounds." (Takehisa Kosugi).
